Yggdrasil (Old Norse: Askr Yggdrasils) is an immense ash tree that is the centre of the Norse cosmos and grows out of the "Well of Urd", which is home to the Norns. The world tree connects the 9 Norse realms, and it is said that Odin would ride up and down its trunk on his horse Sleipnir. Odin sacrificed his body by hanging himself from the tree and piercing his flesh with Gungnir (Odin's spear). He hung for nine days and nine nights. On the ninth night, he had proven himself worthy of learning the secret of the runes.

Mjölnir (Old Norse: Mjǫllnir) - Mjölnir is Thor's hammer and one of the most feared weapons in all of Norse Mythology. It is especially feared by the jötunn (Giants), as Thor is Asgard's resident giant slayer. The hammer was forged by the Dwarves, Brokkr (Metalworker) and Sindri (Spark-sprayer) and can be shrunk to the size of an amulet and worn around the neck.
