Andhrímnir Hand-Forged Hearth Blade & Rocker Cleaver
Product Description
Andhrímnir Hand-Forged Hearth Blade & Rocker Cleaver
Named after the cook of the Norse pantheon who stoked the cauldron Eldhrímnir, this hand-forged rocker cleaver brings a functional, open-hearth style straight to your kitchen or camp bench. Shaped from high-carbon steel with a sweeping crescent edge, it delivers direct downward leverage for butchery, root vegetable prep, and campfire cooking.
In the Prose Edda, Snorri Sturluson recounts how Andhrímnir prepared the nightly feast in the halls of Valhalla. In the historical Nordic world, culinary tools were forged for hard graft - requiring heavy-duty steel capable of breaking down whole cuts of meat, dressing game, and chopping dense hearth ingredients over an open fire pit.
Every Andhrímnir Hearth Blade is forged from resilient high-carbon steel, retaining a textured forge-scale spine with integrated balance cut-outs and a polished crescent bevel. The dual hardwood scales are pinned with solid brass rivets, distributing downward pressure evenly across the cutting edge with zero wrist fatigue. Complete with our triple-horn touchmark and a custom embossed leather sheath, it is built for generations of campfire cooking and kitchen utility.
Who is Andhrimnir?
Andhrimnir is the chef to the Aesir. He butchers the beast Sæhrímnir each day, which he then cooks in his cauldron Eldhrimnir. before feeding the Einherjar in Valhalla. Each night, Sæhrímnir is resurrected back to life, ready for slaughter again the next day. Andhrimnir serves mead produced by the goat Heiðrún.
