Artist Spotlight: Eldulfr
Tricky Wolf, AKA Eldulfr, channels his dedication to the Old Gods through his art.
We are so honoured to feature his art in our shop, and never cease to be amazed at the detail and beauty of his creations.
Eldulfr captures the magic and myths from the world of our Ancestors and brings those ancient shamanic practices into every day life.
His Pendants are hand carved from bone, horn and hardwood, and he chooses to work with these materials
because he believes that the talismans we wear as symbols of our faith should be handcrafted from natural materials
- as they are these one-of-a-kind, consciously and purposefully crafted treasures that our ancestors would have worn
to celebrate their faith. Full of meaning. Unique. Loved.
Each pendant is handcrafted from blade and fire and his own fair hands, no two are ever identical,
and each is unique to its owner.
Always drawn to myths and legends, and growing up in Britain, the rich imagery of the Celts and vikings were some of the first historical stories Tricky was taught. The culture of these warrior civilisations fascinated him and he fell in love with their worlds, woven with magic and adventure. As a Pagan myself he finds the archetypes of the Old Gods an invaluable tool when it comes to interacting with forces and energies greater than ourselves.
And even though the majority of Tricky's materials are bone, horn, and hardwood, he's not opposed to branching out in the future:
"Since I was a child I've always wanted to try my hand at blacksmithing," Tricky states. "When I told the careers advisor at my school that was my dream job he laughed
and said that no one did blacksmithing any more so I'm determined to prove him wrong! I'm hoping to add a forge to my workshop once I've finished building my house,
I think the lessons I've learned in bone/horn carving would serve me well on the handles of blades and axes!
The house he mentions is a self built eco house Tricky and his family is building from scratch in Spain, and you can follow
the progress of this project on his instagram! On his website you can also see his other products, such as tools, patches and pipes.
And should you've got a vision that you can't find amongst Tricky's products, Don't fret, he happily takes commisions:
"When the patron gives me a rough outline of their idea and allows me creative freedom to bring it to life they'll always
end up with my best work!"
