Valknut (Old norse: Vair, "Slain warriors and knut, "knot") - The exact meaning of the Valknut still remains unknown. It is thought to be closely linked to Odin and has been found in a number of burial sites.
Triskelion - The triskelion is a motif consisting of a triple spiral exhibiting rotational symmetry. The spiral design can be based on interlocking Archimedean spirals. In relation to Norse mythology the triskelion is thought to represent the "Triple horns of Odin".
Triple horns of Odin (Also referred to as Horn triskellion) - In order to obtain the mead of poetry (skáldskaparmjöðr), which was made from the blood of the god Kvasir, Odin bargained 3 nights with the giantess Gunnlöð in exchange for three sips of the mead. However, with each sip he drank a whole horn. Since the three horns, named Óðrœrir, Boðn and Són, he drank contained the whole of the mead, Odin thus got all of it and fled in the shape of an eagle.
Our two tone bracers are only sold as a pair.
All of our leather work is handmade in the U.K by our expert leathersmith, exclusively for Horns of Odin. We use vegetable tan leather, which is what would have been used during the Viking age, to give our products that authentic feel.
