Francisca Axe

The Francisca Axe has been beautifully crafted using the highest-quality materials. The head has been forged using carbon steel to achieve the iconic shape associated with the Francisca Axe. This throwing axe was a popular weapon throughout the Early Middle Ages by the Franks, being used by both the Merovingians and Charlemagne. Whilst, popularised by the Franks, examples of this style have axe have been found in England, suggesting its use by the Anglo-Saxons.

The shaft has been hand-crafted from Rosewood and finished with our signature beeswax and linseed oil blend, which helps protect, aids in grip, and brings out the wood's natural grain. Each axe is supplied with a hand-sewn leather sheath that connects with push buttons for quick and easy removal.

Please Note: These axes aren't heavy duty wood chopping / splitting axes. They feature a thin edge which is designed for cutting, Wood splitting axes have a thicker wedge shaped edge, specifically designed to absorb the impact caused by wood chopping.
