Sharpening with a water stone is a skill every Norse craftsman had to master and you should too! Follow these steps to restore your blade:

Soak the Stone: Submerge your 1000/6000 stone in water for 10–15 minutes until the bubbles stop. Keep a small spray bottle handy to keep the surface wet during use.
Set Your Angle: Use the included Precision Angle Guide to lock in a 15–20 degree angle. For a traditional Viking Seax, a consistent, steady hand is key.
The Sharpening Phase: Start on the 1000-grit (blue) side. Using light, even pressure, stroke the blade across the stone. Use the Nagura stone to maintain a clean slurry for maximum efficiency.
The Honing Phase: Once a "burr" (a tiny metal lip) forms, flip to the 6000-grit (white) side. Repeat the process with lighter strokes to polish the edge to a sharp mirror finish.
