This item has some slight imperfections and has been given an A Grade. A Grade means very minor blade or sheath damage which could be removed with the right amount of TLC. They are a great project for someone, at a great price. There are no refunds or returns on A Grade and lower discounted items.

Our Jarl's Knife has been beautifully crafted using the highest-quality materials. The blade has been hand-forged using carbon steel to achieve the iconic shape associated with the Gotland finds from the Viking Age. 

The handle has been hand-crafted from walnut with a bone ring and brass plate. The end of the handle features a brass cap and ring, which can be used to attach leather lace. The whole knife has been finished with our signature beeswax and linseed oil blend, which helps protect, aids in grip and brings out the natural grain in the wood. The leather sheath has been hand-sewn and has a handy belt loop, in keeping with the Gotland finds. 

These are an attempt to recreate what likely would have been used in the Viking Age and are based on the Gotland finds, which date back to the 9th/10th century.

Each knife and sheath has been carefully handmade, so small variations may occur. They are stamped with our logo as a sign of assured quality.

Please note: High-carbon steel blades are used for their durability and ability to keep a sharpened edge. However, like all carbon steel blades, they are susceptible to moisture erosion (rust) if not cared for correctly. Please oil the blade regularly, especially after use and before storing for long periods of time.
